The Gateway Tour Lite Introduced
April 22, 2009
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Created to provide aspiring professional golfers a less-expensive, 1 & 2-day alternative to The Gateway Tour’s format of 3-day events, The Gateway Tour has just announced the inception of The Gateway Tour Lite.
Slated to begin in the coming months within both the Desert & DFW markets, it's a brand new concept Gateway Tour Executive Director, Charley Yandell, is pleased to introduce to development golf.
“We’re excited to launch the Lite Series, not only because it gives players an opportunity to build their games with a more affordable option than with our main tour,” said Yandell, “but because it will also give a broader base of players a viable measuring stick of where they stand before they're able to compete against the top players in developmental tour golf."
"Our players have come to know us as a trustworthy and reliable place where they can hone their games before they reach the PGA & Nationwide Tours," he added, "and now, along with that reputation, we're able to assist a broader level of professionals who vie to play the game full-time, but who may not have the ability to do that because of financial limitations."
The Gateway Tour Lite will operate its events at the same high level of venue the main Tour uses and will also utilize the same challenging course set-ups the Tour has built its reputation on. Tournaments will be scheduled a month ahead of their start dates, and initially, tournament dates will fall during The Gateway Tour's off-times (i.e. off-weeks & fall).
More information about registration and schedules for all Lite events will be coming soon...
